Green Card Filing Process
A Green Card is the official card issued by the US Immigration Service (USCIS) to give the holder the status to permanently live and work in the United States of America.
How to apply?
- You can apply for Green Card through the Green Card Lottery. The US Department of State gives away 55,000 Green Cards through the Diversity Visa Program every year.
- You can get a Green Card through specific job offer for position which only few Americans fill. The employers are required to fill an application with USCIS and Department of Labor and carry out the application process. If you’re an entrepreneur or an investor and help in generating new jobs then you can also get a green card. If you fall under the very special job category, such as, include Afghan/Iraqi translator, international organization employee, religious worker, then also you can apply.
- Family members of US citizens and permanent residents can get a green card. Green card holders can file an application to bring certain family members, such as spouses, unmarried children under and over the age of 21, to the USA through a Green Card.
