The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Rutgers University-Newark invites applications for a full time (academic year), renewable non-tenure track position at the rank of Teaching Instructor beginning September 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have several years of experience teaching Sociology at the college level, outstanding teaching skills, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching through advancing and supporting initiatives that deepen pedagogical knowledge and sustain motivated learning. Candidates should have experience teaching online courses, or be willing to learn how to teach such courses. Area of expertise open, but preference will be given to the Sociology of Law or the Sociology of Medicine.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach statistical methods or sociological theory courses in addition to Introduction to Sociology and specialized courses in their area of expertise.
