The Role Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking a full-time STEM Educator to provide highly interactive educational experiences and lessons to LCS’s guests. The STEM Educator will deliver programs on-site, in the LSC exhibition galleries, theaters and laboratories or offsite in the form of traveling science assemblies, off-site workshops, event offerings, and afterschool programs. The STEM Educator is also responsible for the enrichment of the guests experiences via the of development of new programs and science content for our STEM Science Camps as well as other forms of engaging educational delivery. The STEM Educator is responsible for delivering programs to school partnerships that bridge informal with formal education.
The STEM Educator will report to the Senior Director, STEM Programs and Interactive Experiences and Director, STEM Programs and Interactive Experiences

You have a strong desire to explain science and technology in easily understood ways to children and adults who may have no background in either.

Schedule This is a full-time, non-exempt position, normally 9am -5pm. Additionally, it is recommended that the candidate be available for occasional evenings.
Travel This position will require travel in the tri-state and greater NYC region, up to 140 miles from LSC.
Work Environment Liberty Science Center is located in a beautiful waterfront state park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Not only is Jersey City easy to get to from any points in Northern NJ and Manhattan, but it also holds the title of the most diverse city in the United States. Employees have access to free parking, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and the NJ Path train.

The ability to lift 65 pounds is required.
