The Enterprise Risk team is committed to helping Microsoft in identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risk to strategies, risk to opportunities, and risks associated with how the Company operates. The ERM program enables effective discussions between Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Understanding the top risks, assessing management response, and partnering across the Company helps Microsoft achieve business objectives.
The Enterprise Risk team is looking for a Risk Manager to assess risks with Engineering Groups and to support the NIST Cybersecurity program. The successful candidate for this role will bring a passion for excellence, a service-based approach, program and project experience with a strong ability to collaborate across many teams. This role must be a champion of Enterprise Risk Management and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Success will be measured by effectively driving and coordinate multiple risk assessments across the organization and communicating the outcome of the assessment to audiences across Microsoft in a meaningful way.
Develop a semi-annual risk engagement plan
Conduct business and risk assessments across the organization
Determine the levels of mitigation in place based on the ERM methodology and provide recommendations and strategies by collaborating with the risk teams and SME’s embedded in each business
Uses program management skills to identify and assess risks and assist in informing and influencing business decisions
Applies a growth mindset approach to continuous improvement in personal, project and organizational development
Applies best practices communication tools, processes and methods
Builds and nurtures positive working relationships with stakeholders and leadership and be engaged as a trusted advisorQualificationsTo be successful you will need the following qualifications:
BA/BS in risk management/finance/business/political science or related field or equivalent work experience
4+ years of experience working in on projects or in risk management
Proven track record of delivering results at or above target
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to collaborate and perform within a high-performing team environment
Strong networking and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive working relationships across senior leadership teams
Strong communication skills with high articulation ability, especially executive messaging
Proven experience in driving change through influence
Experience developing, delivering, and maintaining Power BI solutions
