$49,094 a yearUniversity of Idaho Lead Advisor (STEM) Location: Moscow Division/College: Enrollment Management Employee Category: Exempt Pay Range: $49,094 annually or higher commensurate with experience Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: The Lead Advisor is responsible for managing the advising services for first year, second year, transfer and exploratory students in the various assigned undergraduate colleges, which may include the following: College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Natural Resources. This may include, but is not limited to, the following: supervising full-time professional staff advisors; assisting in the development, implementation and assessment of academic advising standards and policy and procedures; implementing retention initiatives based on student data and delivery outcomes; advising complex student populations (e.g. transfer and international); assist with managing University-wide probation programs; serving on university-wide committees; strengthening advising connections with U of I centers and strategic community college partner institutions; providing academic departments with advising expertise as part of the college and University-wide retention strategies; deploying training programs to faculty and professional staff advisors; fostering faculty connections with students seeking a mentor; developing communication plans to engage undergraduate students in academic planning; partnering with student services units across campus to ensure students can access enrichment opportunities (internships, study abroad, alternative service breaks); acting as the primary liaison between University Advising Services and the academic colleges; and providing academic advising internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students. Through strong collaboration with students, college leadership, faculty and other campus partners, the Lead Advisor ensures that students experience a streamlined process for receiving high-quality academic advising in a supportive, efficient and timely manner. In this role, the Lead Advisor is expected to work closely with staff in the Vandal Success Center, the Counseling and Testing Center, the Campus Visits Office, Undergraduate Admission Office, the Office of the Registrar and other student support units to provide excellent student services for prospective and current students. The Lead Advisor makes administrative decisions on a daily and on-going basis. This individual will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Success Initiatives, within the division of Strategic Enrollment Management. This position is located in a college.
