Roles and Responsibility
This position is responsible for analyzing and directing IT related activities of the organization with potential supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned to the IT department (currently one position).
This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer services for computer users throughout the organization through action, planning, technical leadership, and project coordination.
Directs and participates in technological solutions for management and staff in a small but fast-growing engineering firm. Directs and participates in technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and staff projects.
Reviews the utilization of these IT resources while evaluating upgrades or alternative solutions.
Verifies application/projects results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Maintains a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’ Degree in Management Information systems, Computer Science or equivalent education/experience in IT preferred.
5+ years’ experience in a information technology technician role.
Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology.
Cybersecurity experience including next generation firewalls and appliances.
Strong problem solving and communication skills required.
Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation. Hands on experience with multiple branch offices.
Technical Certifications including Microsoft Windows operating systems, Desktops and Servers, next generation firewalls.
Cloud Based computing and security.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
