The Government Grants Manager is responsible for administrative oversight of federal, state, and/or local government grants received by Howard Brown Health. The Government Grants Manager works cooperatively with Howard Brown Health programmatic and clinical teams to facilitate meetings, coordinate and write reports, coordinate and write competing and noncompeting continuation applications, and monitor programmatic and fiscal aspects of government grants.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills required
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; graduate degree a plus
At least two years of relevant experience strongly preferred; five or more years a plus
Strongly prefer prior government grant writing or management experience; previous HRSA, SAMHSA, NIH, CDC, and/or health industry-related grant-writing experience desired
Ability to assist program staff in managing a grant budget
Mature judgement and respect for confidentiality required
Effective team player with the ability to coordinate projects across multiple departments
Demonstrated ability to work on several projects concurrently while meeting deadlines
Superior attention to detail
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Computer literate, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office suite; experience with electronic health record systems or similar data management systems strongly preferred
Previous experience working with Federally Qualified Health Center a plus
Potential irregular hours, occasional late or weekend meetings. Space is limited and must be shared for most efficient usage.
